Sundays's Best: Week 1

Purpose

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

Sunday's for me are all about praising God and resting.  So it only seems fitting that my makeover challenge be about giving God glory for changing my life.  God is the reason behind my complete life overhaul.  Back in 2009 I began to pray that God reveal his purpose for my life.  I would pray about it, I would declare it to myself and to others that I was going to live my life with purpose.

I had no idea that the transformative journey that I was embarking on would be filled with moments of heartache, loss, and personal struggle.  What I learned is that walking with God means that you let go of You, so that you can be the You in God.  It took me a while to see that everything that I was going through was a necessary step to my personal growth and transformation. However, the person that I am becoming is the proof that it was worth it.  I am arriving at my purpose and it feels good.

The Virtuous women of God in Proverbs 31 was a woman with purpose, making Virtuous By Design, a brand with a purpose.  Making me a designer with a purpose.  Sewing to me isn't just about making fashion happen, or keeping up with trends or even setting fashion trends. I love sewing but I believe that my craft has allowed me to sew into others so that they too can move toward their purpose.

With that said, this makeover challenge is about challenging myself to continue to allow God to make me over one garment and one week at a time.  This blog is your invitation to be a part of this process. I hope that it inspires, encourages and motivates you to allow God to transform your life!

This weeks Sunday's best is what I call my "flirt skirt". This ultra feminine skirt has a flounce at the bottom of the pencil skirt that adds a flirty touch while the ethnic print fabric adds a punch of strength and boldness to the skirt design.  I love it!

Special thanks to my daughter Asabea Christian for the photography.
